The Lincoln designs feature a lightweight timber frame and exposed timber, either blackbutt or spotted gum, expressed inside and out. Large timber wrap around decks became a feature of these homes as well as the use of translucent fibreglass to diffuse the harsher afternoon light. Wide eaves further reduce the light as do the timber-battened screens that also create a Japanese sensibility.
